I have installed and uploaded all files to server and also follwoed all instructions in regrads to initial set up. When i go to the URL to start the install i recieve the following error code

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/32/d323642032/htdocs/ultimateshadowmultimedia/BloodBowl/forum/inc/class_core.php on line 18
My host is 1 & 1.com

i have also tried

•New installation or upgrade (from which version of MyBB)? - new install version 1.6.8

I can not get past this stage so i would love it if someone can tell me what it is im doing wrong as i have also put all write access ie th 777 and 666 to each file/ folder that is required and also altered the default.config file to just config.

MyBB requires PHP 5.1: http://docs.mybb.com/Requirements.html But you are probably sill using PHP 4.

I worked it out.
The issue was with the version of PHP which is automatically assigned to 1 & 1 accounts.
To change it you need to access the control panel and alter it to PHP5 or above.
Thought i would post this incase anyone else has issues with 1 & 1 hosted sites
