The default built-in portal page can be found at yoursite.com/portal.php. You can designate which forums the portal displays threads from in the Admin CP.

bro is there any other way aside from htaccess? coz im having trauma with that.. coz the time i edit that it messed up my forum.. i dont know that codes inside are hidden..

You can try to rename it index.php and index.php to something else like forum.php, but I think that there might be additional changes that you might make.
Adding that line to your .htaccess would be much easier imho.

I just did the change from portal.php to index.php.
It depends on where your forum is how you do it. If you have your MyBB install in a sub-directory and you want the portal in site root, follow the tutorial by Pavemen.
