then , I wrote
DirectoryIndex misc.php?page=Home
so that index.php redirects to this page made by me with pagemanager

what should I write in .htaccess, so that misc.php?page=Home redirects to homepage, and bth the urls
i.e. the domain name url and misc.php?page=Home have the same content and the same url?
Could you post the full content of your .htaccess file please?

# EXAMPLE .htaccess FOR MYBB WITH GOOGLE SEO URL
# -------------------------------------------------------------------
# This file is identical to MyBB's htaccess.txt example file,
# with rewrite rules for a standard Google SEO install added.
#
# Before using this file please make sure to:
#
# - replace /MyBB/ with your forum folder, e.g. / or /forum/
# - replace yoursite/MyBB with your forum URL
# - name the file '.htaccess' (starting with the dot, no .txt)
#
# Alternatively you can add the required rewrite rules to your
# existing .htaccess, the specific rules required will be displayed
# on the plugin status page once Google SEO URL is enabled.
# -------------------------------------------------------------------

Options -MultiViews +FollowSymlinks -Indexes

#
# If mod_security is enabled, attempt to disable it.
# - Note, this will work on the majority of hosts but on
# MediaTemple, it is known to cause random Internal Server

what exactly I am trying to achieve here is that the url
http://**********.com/misc.php?page=Home
redirects to

http://*********.com/
so that I can avoid duplicate content issue
sorry for bumping, but does anyone has the solution to this ?
Worth a try. Replace foobar with your page name and localhost/mybb with your page URL

DirectoryIndex misc.php index.php index.html index.htm
RewriteRule ^$ misc.php?page=foobar [L,QSA]
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^(.*&)?page=foobar(&.*)?$
RewriteRule ^misc\.php$ http://localhost/mybb/?%1%2 [L,R=301]

I am afraid, it did not worked
I am getting duplicate content issue in google webmaster tools now because of this.
The page that I have created and the homepage, both have same content, but different urls.
and that is why I am getting errors of duplicate content in google webmaster tools.

I really need a workaround for this.

I resolved it from the cpanel, adding a redirect there
it is working now.

just wanted to know if this is the right thing to do.
