I created my theme while using a large monitor desktop PC, but when I look at the site on a laptop the images do not conform to the new screen size. Is there any way to have the images re-size automatically or do I just need to make all images smaller?

It appears to me like you have an image with a fixed size embedded in a theme that is fluid in size. That is always going to be a problem.

I'm no professional, but I think you need to create fluid table cells on the left and right of that logo and set a minimum width for your layout.
