don't know if the mod mentioned in one of the links will work with 1.2, but at least the suggestions here will get you started!

Since your still on 1.1.7(I'm assuming it's 1.1.7, just because 1.4 hasn't even been released), you should update to 1.2.1 or atleast 1.1.8.
