I'm working on building a custom theme and I was just wondering if there was a way to set a larger avatar size? In pixels I mean.
Also, is there a way to resize and crop uploaded avatars for users when they are not perfect squares? I have a lot of guys with avatars like the one attached...

Admin CP > Configuration > Show Thread Options > Max Avatar Size -- viola
Thank you. That setting is there, but when I adjust it none of the existing or new avatars change - and the avatar screen still says "The maximum dimensions for avatars are: 100x100 pixels.
The maximum file size for avatars is 10 KB."
What am I missing? Also... can I bump up the minimum size?

The setting you're looking for is under User Registration and Profile Options. There's several avatar sizing options there.
