Why not just get one that does, and look through the code to remove the auto-refresh yourself? I'm sure it wouldn't be too hidden away, depending on how competent the developer is.
You might also want to post links to the shout-boxes you have used and hope somebody is nice enough to look through the code and guide you through it.
Either way, when tackling a problem with code that you have full access to it, poke around and see what happens; you'll learn a lot and you get to break stuff, win-win.

im a 100% noob when it comes to plugins..

No you're not, you're 100% sure that you can't do it, which is an entirely different thing. Take a little time to peruse through the files. Even if it all appears to be gibberish, you have a goal: look for something that will automatically refresh the page.
The refresh would likely be done through javascript, so that's narrowed it down even more. If the plugin has .js files with it, you've pretty much just cut your job down by 95%.
