I'd like to hide a specific subforum from showing on the index page. It's an archive, and it just kind of clutters up the index. Is this possible?

Yes by using the threads plugin at MyBB Hacks. In the forum settings there is a setting of hide forum.

Or you can just edit the permisisions for everyone but the admin so they can't see it. No need for a plugin and easy.
