ok,
just spent time trying the tip in the login faq.
I changed the settings.php to my domain
I tried creating a cookie dir \cookies
bout only the dir of \ (root) kind of works
I deleted the settings.php file, and the new file set the dir to \tmp
but it did not work at all.
so i put back to \
any help would be great
thanks
There's absolutely nothing we can do if you don't provide your URL, and I don't think you've read the thread very well if you're trying to set it to \cookies or \tmp because that's totally wrong.
the system set it to tmp, the \ was not working
But it seems to be working now

same with me.
any help?
bb = ho-tips.net
Your cookie domain is ho-tips.net and should be .ho-tips.net
The . at the start makes a difference. At the moment, logging in from
http://ho-tips.net will work, but
http://www.ho-tips.net will not work; the . at the start of the cookie domain will make both work (which is why the installer would have set it to .ho-tips.net).
Figure I'd piggyback this since it's closely related...
Is it possible to make the MyBB cookie work across an entire domain so another software can use it such as Wordpress?
EG
Wordpress in domain root
MyBB is domain subfolder.
