I'd prefer they were all attached or at least closer together since some of my categories only have one forum under them it waste a lot of vertically space. If you have a lot of categories it begins to look bad.

It looks like it's about 10 to 20 pixels of space but I can't seem to find where this is written in the theme.

I'm modifying the default theme btw.

Are you talking about the seperator template? It can be removed from postbit or emptied in the seperator template.

I've included a screenshot so you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

ACP -> Templates -> *Your Template Set* -> Forum Bit Templates -> forumbit_depth1_cat

At the bottom of the template find/remove the '<br />'.
