Mybb version 1.6.9

If I go to my forum and for example want to check my general discussion board, which should be at http://spiralinward.com/forum/forum-3.html and is still the url one is given when hovering over the forum link itself, after clicking on it, I instead get brought to a page on my main site -http://spiralinward.com/?s=forum%25203&search_404=1 with an 'Error 404 - Page Not Found'

Huh
Is your htaccess.txt renamed to ".htaccess" in your forum's root directory?
Not sure. I've never touched it. But this happened about five days ago. Members started emailing me. Is tht something that should have randomly changed itself?
It wouldn't have been able to change itself. Either go to ACP > Configuration > Server and Optimization Options and disable Enable search engine friendly URLs, or just look via FTP and see if you have a .htaccess file; if you don't, MyBB comes with a htaccess.txt file, rename that to .htaccess and it should work.
There is an .htaccess.txt there is also a .htaccess.
Why though would this suddenly happen now after 4 years? That seems really odd.

I changed it and it works. But that's really strange. Thank you.
Do you have any other users with access to the Admin CP? Did you always use search engine friendly URL's?
I've always had search engine friendly URL's yes. There is only one other person with admin capabilities and he hasn't been on since August. The other Admin is Quacktacular and he hasnt't been on in since May 2011. View log doesn't show any changes made by anyone.
