I use this abbreviations plugin quite extensively due to the nature of my site, however I have noted a problem.
If there are any links with an abbreviation in, the plugin messes up the link. A good example is this post:

If you look at the user's sig, the plugin is picking up the abbreviation VC and breaking the link.
I would like to edit the plugin so it ignores all abbreviations in text that are in mybb code, so it would ignore all types of links.
Please can anyone advise how I can edit the attached plugin to do this?
