And yes, I hated ipb even for a paid solution....it's not that great. Sometimes simplicity trumps bloat.
Do you mean 3.3.4? I don't think 3.4 has been released yet, unless I've simply missed the announcement (doubtful)? The current merge system should work for 3.3.4 I believe.

IIRC, Pirata is taking over development of the merge system. I don't know if he has access to an IPB license or not so I'll contact him offering mine.

I have an IPB 3.4 board I would love to move to MyBB... I am fine helping to test the migration script if that helps.
