My web page has been suspended because my host has found
"malicious" software on my site.

All the software appears to be in the default.php

I struggle just enough to create a page and follow the MyBB
great instructions on setting up the forum. I honestly don't know
which files are the database files and which files are support files ..
and I usually don't have to know. The site has been up for many
years.

Anyways I was just a little hesitant to go through my site and start
deleting these default.php files without asking you guys.

below is the letter for reference.

Dear Customer:

we have been forced to suspend your site, to protect services to our other customers.

Also, we have found malicious content on your account. We recommend you delete all files and upload a known good backup of the site.

The contents of our virus scan is below:

/home/users/web/b1924/ipw.mikeamic/public_html/forum/default.php: EIG.PHP.Backdoor.ArbEval-22.UNOFFICIAL FOUND

plus several other pages .. all in the default.php

Default.php is not a MyBB file, is it?

MyBB doesn't have any file called default.php.

Default.php is a file that comes along with many hosts for sites that aren't ready yet, when people go on the domain they are taken to the default.php page.

I think someone has access to your server and added that file for some unknown reason or possibly the host is providing a malicious file which aren't even aware about.

I didnt actually think that the file was a MyBB file ... I was just asking here because many
of the users on here are web masters with ooooogles more experience than me. Lots of
really sharp guys on here .. I knew some of you could give me the low down ..
