I have done nothing but install MyBB and check my page. Should I uninstall MyBB and try again? I just wanted to post this here incase others are having a similar problem.

Make sure you selected the correct database type. You can see this in the /inc/config.php file. Also, make sure you delete the /install directory if you have not already done so.
