Most of the shoutbox that are currently out suck and don't work good. You guys should create a shoutbox that will actually work. A shoutbox is a great way for members to communicate.

Never going to be in the core. Make a request in the plugin requests forum if you really think current solutions aren't good enough.

A shoutbox being used for the main way of communication basically takes a way from the forum. Of all you need do is post in the shoutbox then why bother having it as a plugin for a forum, why not just have it on its own? That would be how I would use a shoutbox and as already posted above and many other times it will never be core.
