How can I update URLs to postnames?

By default,
1. if I have a category named "New" I'll get a url domain.com/forum-1.html
2. if I have a forum name named "Spam", I'll get a url domain.com/forum-2.html.
3. if I have a new thread created "news for today", I'll get a domain.com/thread-1.html

How can I convert those URLs into postnames (known on Wordpress) ?
Like on number,
1. Instead of having domain.com/forum-1.html, I'll get domain.com/category/new.html
2. I'll get domain.com/forum/spam.html
3. I'll get domain.com/thread/news-for-today.html

Even usernames, i get domain.com/user-2.html instead of domain.com/user/myname.html

I've been Googling for something like that but couldn't find any relevant information regarding that one.

Google SEO plugin will give you something similar (e.g. domain.com/Category-Forum-Name)

it's also rather easy to customize the URL output.
