Won't ever happen. It defeats the point of a forum.
There is many plugin out there for Shoutbox.
The point of a forum is so users chat via threads & posts, not a chat box. You might as well not use MyBB and set up a chat box site if you really wanted that. Chat boxes are forum killers.
There will never be a shoutbox by default in MyBB. This has been said many, many times before.
