Full Version: Facebook is not an elite tech company

It may sound weird to claim a company that generated $1.2 billion in revenue in the third quarter of last year (at a net loss) and boasts a billion accounts is not an elite tech company.

This is not to argue that Facebook has no value, just that we need to stop including it in the conversation with those other four. Even with strong revenue from advertising - which is under increasing scrutiny for efficacy - on the Internet being a walled garden does not build competitive strength. Remember AOL, anyone?

Nothing is finite. Facebook will have it's failures.
It all about profit..their ad system it a big scam,they know when a crawling bot visits a sponsored link the system charges that as a click,so the revenue they claim,half of it is just fraud,they have to make more profit than the year before,just to attract more investors...
