i have have a friend how has a porboards fourm and wants to change to mybb is there a way he can do this with kepping his members and posts

As far as I know, there currently is no direct way to convert from proboards to MyBB.

Is there even a way to export data from proboards? (SQL dump, CSV, etc)

Proboards offers no download or backup utility. Your only hope would be to spider the site but then you won't have users emails or passwords.

It's fairly hopeless.
