the above ip is a spammer @ my forum.
when i tried to ban this ip, i got following error:

That means that ths was banned before right?
But how he could register a new account then?

If it's a bot it's most likely using proxies and not the server IP address.

Hmm. Let me ban Proxy Registers.

I've noticed the same thing. A couple of times I went to ban IPs and noticed they were already banned.

It wasn't bots that were registering, but a human spammer who was using proxy IPs, and those proxy IPs had already been banned once.
