Yes, it blocks groups from viewing threads using specific thread prefixes (on a per prefix basis) in the showthread/newreply/archive view to non moderators and if not the author.
It will show a archive_/error_no_permission error just as MyBB does. Sorry for not being very descriptive.

The plug-in is now compatible only with MyBB 1.8. Backwards compatibility is not present.

It should work with all MyBB 1.8 versions.
I know that this is an older thread but I use this plugin (thank you Omar) and want to use it on PHP 8 .... but it seems not to be compatible!
In the ACP .... when I upload the files to the server .... the plugins section becomes blank?
No errors are given .... there is just nothing listed in plugins??
Check your server logs. There is probably a php error not showed in the ACP.
