MyBB 1.8 is way faster than MyBB 1.6, you connection just got slower...

What why?
dev.mybb.com will go offline because the team will use GitHub Issues. In the end, it kind of tightens the community, IMO, and it also eliminates the resource requirements on the MyBB server.

Because it's only being used for 1.6 and we've moved to Github for 1.8, 2.0, and all future releases.

Ideally you should actually clone the repo and not use the ZIP as it'll be much easier to maintain and update.
