Is there a way to turn this off? If a post is locked/closed admins should not beable to post replys either. Or atleast show a message stating the thread is closed, do you want to post anyway type of message.

If a thread is locked then the new reply button changes to thread closed (default behaviour). However, the quick reply is still visible and usable.

The easiest solution is to edit the quick reply so it is really clear the thread is closed.

This plugin by ZingaBurga does this:
