I'm trying the plugin provided on this site, the seo mod plugin. I know how to install it and activate it, I'm just not sure about the .htaccess.

I checked my root directory and the file is not in there. (mybb is installed in my root). I emailed my tech support, and they installed the .htaccess, but when I went to access my site in the browser, I got a 500 server error so I took it out.

Am I missing something here?? How do I put a .htaccess file in my root if it's going to create a 500 error?

Please help!

Your server is not a Apache server then and the seo plug-in will not work and it can't be made to work as it is now, and if it were to be made to work it won't be as search engine friendly.
