Before I start using the system, I just want to make sure that my users can 'subscribe" to a thread and receive updates as they occur, daily, weekly, etc.
OR as I'm seeing here, is it automatic?

Subscribe is MyBB Core feature. When you take a look in some thread, scroll little down and you will see "Subscribe to this thread". You can change it to automatic when they reply to be subcribed.

Things have changed over the years since I last had a BB. I really liked many of the features this one has, but as you know, it's going to take me a little while to get them all
