I like the idea of that but sometimes it is annoying. Possibly a setting in ./inc/config.php for this.
It is an option. If you set the variable to 0, it will ignore it.

It's built into 1.8, though it's an optional feature.
Variables need to be set to 9999999 in-order for the function to successfully work.
