How does this happen?
A member uploads an attachment, image but for some reason it cannot be viewed later.

In the admin panel under attachements, it has the file name in a red colour with the message: Attachments in this colour were not found on the file system and should be deleted.

I also checked the uploads folder and they are gone, even though i havnt deleted anything...

How do i prevent this?

Read that, your uploads folder is probably not set to the correct permissions.

Are there any errors at the time when you upload an attachment?

Do you have _anything_ in your /uploads/ folder?

Do the attachments never appear at all, or do they appear for some time and then mysteriously disappear?

it works when i upload and there are files in the upload folder...it just seems weird as if like the files expire?

Do you have any plugins or modifications?

no, i dont have any pluggins...
