Basically someone is trying to trademark Python in the EU that isn't related to the python programming language.

I don't understand how that works. These new guys have owned the domain, that was completely irrelevant to their brand for 13 years. PSF has been developing python the language for over 20 years. How can the new guys trademark it in any way. Trademark law is stupid.

But seriously. I can't believe that laws allow this type of stuff to happen. If only laws could somewhat fall back to common sense instead of technicalities that get exploited repeatedly.
