Don't blame you for not finding that thread, it feels to me like it is in the wrong section.
i dont understand how to change that, i searched off.gif and i changed to .png and the .gif images still showing after i cleaned the cache

You will have to go to your file manager for example file sills and upload an on.png file and an off.png file.
yes but the way to edit is confuse -.-, i mean i go to Templates & Style and what, i select something, wich template, what option, where, wtf
Login to your forums Admin Control Panel.
In the header there is a link to Templates & Style, click it.
On the right there is a box with a link called Templates, click it
Choose your theme from the list.
effone's solution should tell you the rest.
and with off.gif and on.gif same thing?
