How can I do it so when a user submits a file, it'll be posted in a certain section as a thread?

is there a plugin for it? or a simple modification in MyDownloads?

You can use XThreads for this.

What exactly is xthreads? Is it free? Do I have to uninstall mydownloads?

It is absolutely free, it is an apart system to mydownloads though.

I installed it to my forum, where do I edit everything at? I also chmoded the uploads/xthreads to 777

The downloads set up I showed as an example is of course not there, but I doubt you would use that set up unless you were a sims site.

Well... that's a lot of template edits...

Not that I know of.

The Xthreads templates are not template edits, they are NEW templates that you store in the Global templates but unless you are comfortable with the MyBB template system and are fairly good at HTML and CSS then XThreads is perhaps not for you.
