I am not sure if this has been suggested before (somehow i think it has but i could not find it ).

But i was wondering if it would be possible to add to 1.8 a system that lets plugin writers create categories inside the global templates. Without of course breaking previous plugins (1.6). Just as an option to sort the templates for plugins in a nicer way.

Just currently becomes a bit of a mess with a few plugins that use multiple categories.

My addition to this suggestion is to have a function in adminfunctions_templates that creates the templates and the category is the plugin name.

Yes please. When you install many plugins, especially ones with many templates like my own, they fill up the global one like crazy.
