Hello!

Sorry for the newbie question, but I hope somebody can help me with this problem:
I updated the entire folder, except the two files in the inc folder, as described in the manual. Nevertheless, when accessing the "install/update" page, I get an error claiming

Quote:The installer is currently locked, please remove 'lock' from the install directory to continue

Ok, great. So how do I unlock my install directory?

Delete the lock from your install directory on your ftp.

Using SmartFTP - how do I do that? (alright then - i suppose I should blush right now )

Using SmartFTP, connect to your host and go to your mybb directory where you uploaded mybb, then go to a folder called install inside of it and find the file "lock" and select it, either rightclick -> Delete or just press your del key.

Oh my god. I always thought of the "lock" being some kind of file properity, never of it being a file of its own.
