I'm experimenting with mybb on my laptop using ammps. And I setup smtp to use my gmail account

I see nothing wrong in the setting, but I do not see any email being delivered to a test user account either. And I've tried both ports 465 and 587.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Note, I did edit out the gmail username.

Have you checked you gmail settings? And if you are using TSL encryption you should use 587 as port.

I'm unaware of needing to edit any gmail setting. Is there something within gmail that needs to be changed?

I also changed the port to 587, but still didn't work.

I also placed a test site on a live site vs. xampps install, but still not working.

That worked.. I needed to change the encryption fro TSL to SSL.. Strange that everything else I have read says to use TSL.
