you try to open this thread > http://community.mybb.com/thread-85532-post-655723.html
whether this way can still work? does anyone still use "short URLs" is?

Please reply of you who are use the "RedirectMatch" on. .htaccess like this thread http://community.mybb.com/thread-85532-post-655723.html

if they can, what's the difference if I want URLs like the following:

Default:
http://domain.com/showthread.php?tid=1234

I want the URL I like this forum

http://domain.com/thread/1234
using thread ID is horrible for your SEO....

Use the Google SEO plugin:
http://mods.mybb.com/view/google-seo

And you'll have the thread subject as the permalink.

the nice thing is the old urls will also work but when crawling, Search Engines index the permalink you use. In which case Google SEO allows it to be the thread subject with safe characters.

I've finished and even have long used Google SEO.

I mean the way to "RewriteRule" re. htaccess
so I like this forum URLs http://domain.com/thread/1234
because my forum is currently using a URL like this, for example: http://domain.com/Thread-my-first-post

check the URL here :
Thread : http://kampoeng.comuv.com/Thread-1st-Pertanyaan-Umum
Forum : http://kampoeng.comuv.com/Forum-SELAMAT-...-INDONESIA
User : http://kampoeng.comuv.com/User-admin
etc.
