They probably won't be implemented on the index. There are some places where they're needed but the index isn't one of them.
You could always make it so that there is a setting in the acp for admins to choose whether it is on or off some admins like it others don't.
Personally, I think it's helpful to see when an admin or mod has posted a reply somewhere. I use the mod, but it'd be nice to have it integrated into the core.
I am also using the plugin at the moment, and would like to see it introduced else where in the core as now i think it mainly in thread display they use it.
