How can I get into {$sub_forums} ?
I want to edit the stuff that is inside the variable.

If what you mean is the php file, you can find it in inc/functions_forumlist.php.
If what you mean is the template, you can edit forumbit_depth3, forumbit_depth3_statusicon and forumbit_subforums templates.
