When a website is being DDoSed, is there any impact or damages on the DB? BTW how does a website starts to slow down when a website is being DDoSed? I know that it overloads the server causing it to go down but what exactly gets overloaded?

N00B question because I'm kind of new to these stuff willing to learn more Big Grin

There could potentially be corrupt data but for the most part it's not a problem. You'd have to have a poorly configured MySQL server or maybe some bad hardware. Otherwise MySQL handles crashes and recovery fairly well.

HTTP service like Apache is much more likely to fail than MySQL.
