There should be a Default Thanks/Like plugin so if you get a theme it will change the picture of the thanks button too or something like that.

This won't be in 1.8.

The OP is requesting that the plugin be no longer needed as a plugin but implemented in the core.
OP: The plugin is fine as a plugin, the core doesn't need this. It is basically an unneeded addition to the reputation system.

I'm sure i heard that 1.8 is feature frozen, could be wrong.

It's not being removed and we have no plans to remove it.

Hopefully plans to improve it though, but saying that i like mybbs reputation system.

I agree that it shouldn't be core because:

• it sucks up extra resources
  
• people tend to take it too seriously and post just for more likes
