Hi guys 1st time using mybb.
Ok ive seen a site called lunaticoutpost
now i would like to know how to set up my site the same way.

Thank you.
A link to this site would be helpful - Because then we can help you get the same sort of thing going.

I would not reccomend it though - The aim is to be as unique as you can be, coping another site is not what you want to do.
Thanks for the quick reply.
Just how to set it up the way its been done.

Hi guys,

Just makeing sure i havent been foregotten.
Anyone help me out with this please.

Providing you're using Apache as a webserver, add the following to your .htaccess file:

DirectoryIndex forumdisplay.php?fid=x

Replace x with the fid of the forum you want to show.
Ok what is apache?
I dont even no what htaccess is.?
But i give it ago just need to no whete to look.
Cheers
Apache is a web server. If you're unsure what webserver you're using you need to contact your webhost and ask them.
Its free hosting & they never answer any questions.
Is apache the only server it works on.?
For that specific piece of code, yes, but many webservers allow you to specify a custom index file.

What's your forum URL?
Theres nothing on the forum yet just to get it right first.
If i go into mycpanel thing will it tell me in there ifs its apache.

Yeah Nathan just checked it out its apache 2.1.17 .
What do i do now.?

2.2.17

Where getting somwhere now.
Ok can someone tell me where to find htaccess i take it its in the cpanel..
In there i have file manger, mysslq etc is under one of them had look but cant find no htaccess.

Ok found my htaccess.
Ok im using my phone.
Now when i click htaccess the line changes colour.
What should happen next?
Im not getting anything after clicking on htaccess.
Ive tried clicking on edit.
Might just be the phone.
Don't ever modify files using a phone. That's the √ of all problems.
