MyBB has a very nice system that prevents anyone hotlinking to an attached file...
But I don't want to use it.
I want users to be able to do this. (Partly because, combined with the automedia plugin, that would allow media player embedding for attached media files) And in fact, if I'm able to do it, I may also try to modify the attachment display code to display attachments as direct hotlinks in posts by default.
So, is there any way I can (securely) bypass the system and allow users to link directly to their attached files?
(I've got unlimited bandwidth hosting; I'm not terribly concerned about the bandwidth this might consume.)
