Hi, I think that it will be a nice feature to add paid subscriptions: for example, a user can purchase VIP and would automatically be moved to that usergroup once paid, and the admin can set what each user group can do etc etc e.g. colored usernames, extra forum permissions etc.
It's better left for a plugin to handle this.
Not everyone will use this. Common features should be added. That's why MyBB supports plugins, so specific niche forums can get the features they specifically need.
