I know that HF uses some kind of script for the forum but how do you get it so that it shows a loading bar and instead of refreshing the page when you post it uses ajax or whatever.

if you use quick reply then whole page does not refresh. IIRC, new reply on HF does not have that feature.

Umm actually I have quick reply on but it loads the page again.

^ disable all plugins (setting available in General Configuration) and check it.
