Hi,

I am a website that is running on 1.2.1. There is another forum running on SMF. We decided that it'd be best to partner up, for the best quality forum. We want to merge the user database, as well as the posts. However, we have different forum names and a different software. How would I do this? Are there any tips you can give me?

Youy'd need to create a Importer that'll import from SMF to MyBB.

Unfortunately, there isn't an SMF to MyBB Importer at this time but you can check out Code Modifications to find other alternatives, if they're available.

What if it was some other forum, like PHPBB or vBulletin or Invision?

Converters are in the planning. Currently we have some user created converters and to my knowledge, there isn't a SMF one. If you need to convert to MyBB from SMF, you need to convert SMF to phpBB to MyBB.
