I am trying to replace my default ficons but when I do, you can still see the default color button in the background.

Here's a screenshot of what I am talking about.

Did you replace the offlock image?

I used that picture as an example. I replaced all of them, on, off, and offlock. It still leaves that dark button in the background.

What about clearing your cache and rechecking the directory?

This is how it shows up on the forum:

your forum's forumbit_depth2_forum template has <div class="icon_back"> at the top.
change it to <div class="myficon"> to remove the background color for the icon.
