On the main theme, when posting a thread, for some reason the text editor has gone missing when you create a new thread making it impossible to change text colours, make text bold etc.

any idea how to resolve this?

That's weird. For some reason it won't let you select the colors. But if you know the color code, You can actually have the color.

I don't know what is wrong with it, But i'm not very good with themes, So i'd rather have you wait until you have someone that's better with this stuff. As for now, You can know the color codes by following this link:

admin panel >> templates >> forum's active theme's templates >> ungrouped templates >> headerinclude template

find <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js"></script> and add
<script type="text/javascript">jQuery.noConflict();</script> below above code. save & check
