Firstly, Is this the right sub-forum to post this? and Secondly, I have uploaded the upload file onto SmartFTP. I click on my forum site and it says that the board is not installed properly. I have PHP and MySQL. What do I do next?

1) Have you installed MyBB? If not, do as Christian says.

2) If you already had a board, then you will have to explain your situation in further detail.
2a) If you were just going to upgrade your board, then chances are you have accidentally replaced your inc/config.php file (and possibly also your inc/settings.php) with the default empty ones..

I have tried typing: http://rangerfusion.freehostia.com/mybb_121/Install and it keeps redirecting itself to freehostia.

There is no directory mybb_121 at http://rangerfusion.freehostia.com/.

I think that is why it is redirecting to homepage. 404 error has been set as defualt homepage.

Try http://rangerfusion.freehostia.com/google , again goes to freehostia.com

Not only that, but it looks as if you uploaded the "upload" folder. You needed to take what was inside that folder and upload it in the directory of your choosing...ie mybb_121. But Vinoth is right, that directory doesn't exist at this time! You might want to just rename "upload" to "mybb_121" and try typing in the url http://rangerfusion.freehostia.com/mybb_121/Install again!

Or you can run the installer at http://rangerfusion.freehostia.com/Upload/install , but you will be stuck with that URL for your board (http://rangerfusion.freehostia.com/Upload)

I have tried to no luck...Is it my hosting software or me?

Please confirm that MyBB has been uploaded to your server, I just visited http://rangerfusion.freehostia.com/ and see no evidence of the MyBB directory being present.
