which theme you are using ?
if it is MyBB's default theme then find & install a good looking theme with the panel you like.

I am creating a theme of my own,, And i am using a child theme of the default one.

Edit header_welcomeblock_member, header_welcomeblock_moderator and header_welcomeblock_admin to change look of the links. Add your CSS to global.css
