Full Version: issues after removing install directory

Hey all,

I ran into a problem installing ver 1.6.10. After removing the install directory in accordance with the directions @ http://docs.mybb.com/Installing.html all of the styles and scripts that are not in the /admin/ directory became unavailable. After doing a little digging, it appears that the forum is still referencing the install directory to access global.css, etc via the below links

http://[test server ip]/MyBB/Install/index.php?&action=configuration/cache/themes/theme3/global.css

The admin pages all function correctly but the actual forum pages are completely devoid of style or scripts because of this. I also attempted to replace the install directory but the site kept complaining about being locked even though the lock file was emptied (ie: removed the 1 to create an empty file) and also completely removed.

I have attached 2 screen shots showing the state of the install and this is running on a Windows Server 2012 Datacenter HyperV-VM as part of a network isolated test suite with PHP version 5.3.24 and MySQL version MySQLi 5.1.68 so hosting configuration or CHMOD is not the culprit here.

If anyone has any idea how to remedy this without manually going through the php templates to correct it I would be very appreciative...

Thanks in advance,

AMS

Definitely got me closer... still have an issue with the theme but think this might have done it. I'll post an update once I see what is happening with the theme since I might have goobered it while troubleshooting.

Thanks Destroy... appreciate it

Solved... I definitely goobered the theme but all fixed thanks to the beauty of virtualization. Gotta love being able to tear down a server and doing a full re-deployment in under 10 minutes Smile

Thanks again destroy...
Backup your install folder, you will need it to upgrade mybb in the future. MyBB has a file name "lock" in the install folder, so you will not need to remove it.

Try it.

Thanks for the tip LCTG... I will definitely do that when moving to production but this is just a quick VM demo to show the people what is possible. I was rushing to get it up and ended up shooting myself in the foot in the process.

Probably a lesson to be learned there or some such nonsense Wink
