How do I update to the new MyBB without losing my files?

Because if you go to my forum (which is on MyBB)

It's all white and messed up, this might be because my version of MyBB isn't right; is this the problem? How do I update without losing files? Confused

have you downloaded the files for 1.6.10 and uploaded them?


If so open the install folder and find a file called lock delete that them go to


http://www.genesispvp.org/forum/install/upgrade.php.


If you have not download the upgrade package for 1.6.10 and upload them some files will be overwritten its fine.

then find the install folder and delete the lock file. then go to the address above.
